Beginning January 1, 2023, the 5% allocation of state unemployment tax dollars towards the OESC Technology Fund will be discontinued. House Bill 1110, which established the 5% allocation in 2017, expires December 31, 2022. After the change, all tax dollars will be applied to the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund and can be claimed on IRS Form 940. Any reporting period for unemployment tax prior to 2023 will still be subject to the 5% allocation.
